We have a growing portfolio of content for your family or learning pod to use for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) education. With guided videos, worksheets, and material kits, your young inventors can unlock the mystery and magic behind how things work!
6 Weeks of Hands-on Science:
Toy Design Challenges
We are excited to offer our Toy Design Challenge Unit, consisting of six weeks of engineering challenges for grades 1-5. This unit is an excellent resource for families or pods looking to provide supplemental science instruction on remote days.
How it works:
Each week students are introduced to a new problem that they need to solve by working through the engineering design process.
Through a private web-based portal, students (or pod leaders) can access the 6 challenges, creating 6 weeks of instruction, tinkering, and experimentation!
Each weekly challenge includes 5 video mini lessons, hosted by instructors. Each 3-6 minute video guides students through a different step of the design process and sets the stage for 20 – 45 minutes of activity – including sketching, building, and reflection.
Students receive a corresponding Inventor Guide and worksheet packet as a reference tool for off-screen work.
This unit not only familiarizes students with the ins-and-outs of the design process, it also introduces super-cool science concepts that students see in action through their own experimentation. (Gravity! Lift! Buoyancy! Inertia!)
A material kit is provided for each of the six challenges.
Pod access to 30 mini-lesson videos: $149.00
Material Kit, Inventor Guide & Worksheets: $49.00 per student + shipping
Access to videos is immediate, but please allow 7-10 business days for shipping.
