Dr. George Parker III

Dr. George Parker III retired from public service in 2023 after a 30-year career in public education. A licensed mathematics teacher by trade, he spent seven years in the classroom prior to advancing to school and division leadership assignments. Dr. Parker served as a high school principal and Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools in Virginia Beach City Public Schools prior to assuming his first appointment as Superintendent of Schools for Caroline County Public Schools in 2015. He later served as superintendent of Newport News Public Schools from 2018 to 2023.
Dr. Parker has been an innovator throughout his career in education by expanding opportunities in both STEM and Gifted education for students. As a building principal, he was instrumental in establishing the first advanced academic public charter agreement in the Commonwealth of Virginia which partnered the International Baccalaureate Program with advanced technology certifications and other career-oriented opportunities. As a district superintendent, he expanded STEM and Gifted education through equity focused intiatives, that enabled all children to have exposure to rigorous opportunities and exposure to mathematics, robotics and engineering concepts.
After retiring in 2023, Dr. Parker, has continued his support of K-12 education as the founder and CEO of Leveraged Education Solutions LLC, which partners with school district and businesses to develop effective leaders, quality programs and effective strategic initiatives.
